Standard Time
The baby's still on daylight savings. We reset the clocks on Saturday night, and the baby woke up Sunday morning at 5am--6am under daylight savings. The past few days, we've kept to her normal schedule eating, sleeping, bathing, etc. But, she still thinks we are an hour late and complains vigorously when we're past due. This morning she woke up at 5:40am. Kanako got out of bed and retrieved her from her room. As is Kanako's normal practice, she fed the baby in bed and afterward let her settle between us. The baby usually falls back to sleep, after all it is still early in the morning. The family slept until 7am (standard time). I stirred first, having overslept, I normally get up at 6. And when I stirred, the dog, whose usually up and ready to go, got out of her bed and came to the my side of the bed. She shook and itched herself as is her normal practice. The baby opened her eyes, slowly taking in me and the dog. Then she smiled and stuck out her tongue and panted--her sign for dog. What a wonderful treat I had seeing my baby's glowing face, signing her first word, dog.
